Xena is Dressed

IMG_3099

She may still be bald, but her dress is finished.  My next step will probably be Xena’s samplers as putting in her hair scares me a little…it’s surface embroidery on canvas (outline stitch in two or three colors of auburn).  I am far more comfortable with counted stitching, but eventually I will bite the bullet and give the poor girl some hair!

Be well, and try to enjoy the snow if it has buried you!

Oooh that dress is gorgeous.
I think you made the right decision to leave the hair to last.

Hi Edy,

You did a wonderful job on Xena's dress!

We'll just pretend that Xena is wearing a white cap until you can get to her hair. :-)

Wow--she is beautiful! I understand what you mean about surface stitching on congress cloth--it is really unforgiving, so you want it to be right--ugh...I don't envy you that part. Your piece is just gorgeous--keep up the good work!

What an absolutely beautiful dress! I look forward to seeing her hairdo--I always leave the hair for last, too, because it takes awhile to take in enough deep breaths before plunging the needle.

She looks great, Edy! Don't worry about the hair - just go for it. The worst that can happen is that you have to frog it (or better yet, just stitch over any rough patches)!
